El germen que dio lugar a Ars Symbolica 2000 fue la idea de crear un libro con “imágenes para meditar”, o lo que es lo mismo un libro de emblemas, pues de pertenecer a un género, este libro pertenecería al olvidado género de la Emblemática. Ese que practicaban alquimistas, sabios y eruditos de épocas ya remotas como Alciato, Athanasius Kircher o Michael Maier, entre otros.
And it is conceived as such, following the style of those ‘silent’ books in which the symbolic power of the image took precedence over that of the word, and where the symbols are accompanied simply by brief quotations or paragraphs.
