The story is a science fiction thriller that begins with a series of flashbacks and flash-forwards about Noriko Kurosawa’s life and her memories of how she came to meet her current crew, and how they decided together to travel across the galaxy to unravel its secrets.

It begins on the battered starship Shootingstar One, which appears to have come under attack; as she loses consciousness, she relives the most significant moments of her past and every step that has led her to the present moment of her journey.

What dark secrets does the galaxy hold? Who is willing to bury them in the depths of space—or to exploit them?
